First off, thank you for taking the time to check out this letter! By the nature of the exchange, these are my most niche requests, so the fact that you’re at all interested in any of them has me excited. I’ve included a lot more information below, but really, as long as you avoid my DNWs I’m pretty easy to please. I can’t wait to see what you come up!

I think the reason I get so attached to every character in these games is how committed they all are to silliness. Everyone’s got their tragic backstories, and I am a huge fan of exploring those and making them suffer, but in the end no one is above doing ridiculous things. This isn’t to say I’m against more serious fic for this fandom, just that I’d rather not go entirely dark here. I’m also up for background ships, if you’re so inclined. My favorites are Lanamia, Wrightworth, and Klapollo, but I’m up for just about anything that doesn’t break up the requested ship.

Ayasato Mayoi | Maya Fey/Houzuki Akane | Ema Skye/Karuma Mei | Franziska von Karma

This ship started out with me being indecisive about who I preferred to ship Maya with. But the more I thought about it, the more I thought that all three of them would be good together. Ema’s slightly pessimistic realism strikes a good middle ground between Maya’s unrelenting optimism and Franziska’s intensity, Franziska can rein the two of them in when Ema gets too excited and Maya eggs her on, and Maya keeps Franziska and Ema from getting too cynical or caught up in self doubt. They’re also a defense-prosecution-police power trio, and I’d love to see a case that all three of them are working on in some capacity. I’m also up for blatant fluff about the three of them, since they all very much deserve it. I can see them all getting far too worked up about each other’s birthdays, for instance, or show me what a typical date for them is like.

CANON DNW: pre-killing game characterizations for DRV3 characters

I’ve been trying to get everyone through the DRV3 board game, and in the process I’m rediscovering everything I love about all the characters. They’re all so ridiculous and over-the-top, and it’s great. In general, I’m a huge fan of things to do with characters’ talents or the day to day life at Hope’s Peak. Give me everyone worrying about practical exams or trying (and failing) to balance school with their careers. I’m also totally up for non-despair/non-Hope’s Peak AUs, if that’s what you’d like to do. Let them be happy for a change.

Asahina Aoi/Chabashira Tenko/Oogami Sakura

Speaking of the board game, I really loved the Aoi-Tenko friendship that we got to see there, and while there were fewer Sakura-Tenko interactions the one that I know of is also great. I’d love to see them all exercising and training towards their specific goals together. Maybe Tenko and Sakura spar, with Aoi cheering them on. Or Tenko meets some milestone in her swimming lessons, and they all go out to celebrate.

Ikusaba Mukuro/Pekoyama Peko/Tojo Kirumi

These three form probably my favorite archetype in the franchise, and I’d love to see how they’d interact. Does seeing the people they care about treating talking about how worthless they are convince Mukuro and Peko, and to a lesser extent Kirumi, to stop thinking of themselves as extensions of other people’s wills and start being more independent? Or do Mukuro and Peko lead Kirumi into despair by showing the extreme end of selfless devotion? Alternatively, you could ignore all of that together and go for some fluff. I’d love to see the three of them using their talents to give each other Valentine’s Day chocolate as sneakily as possible.

Ikusaba Mukuro/Kirigiri Kyouko/Maizono Sayaka

I love every component pair of this ship, so I’m a little surprised that there’s so little for them as a trio. They’ve each got an interesting mix of kindness and ruthlessness that varies between them and that could lead to all sorts of shenanigans. They all strike me as the sort of people who could get really competitive over minor things, for instance, so the three of them playing a board game might be fun. And I’m always a sucker for sap where the Tragedy is averted because Mukuro’s girlfriends convince her to turn against Junko, whether they know that’s what they’re doing or not. Or if you wanted to go entirely AU, I’d love something high fantasy with Sayaka as a queen, Mukuro as her general, and Kyouko the spymaster or something like that.

Canon DNW: Bianca/Rickert, even referenced and/or past

This canon hits on so many of my favorite tropes. Historical fantasy! Canon lesbians! Undying loyalty, both to countries and to people! There’s a lot packed into such a short space, and I enjoy it all.

Bianca/Ortfiné Fredericka von Eylstadt/Izetta

Requested Dynamics: Equilateral Relationship, Existing Couple Falls in Love with Outside Party

I knew this wasn’t going to happen in canon, but between Bianca’s reaction to Izetta getting injured and the way she was convinced to join the dance lessons, I was so hoping. I feel like Bianca might be a little more wary to intrude on the fairytale love story, so a fic about how Fine and Izetta convince her that they want her there might be adorable. A roleswap AU could also be a lot of fun; how would things change if Bianca was the princess and Finé the witch, for instance? Or if you wanted to transplant all three of them to a Space Opera AU or something, I would definitely be intrigued.

Sophie & None

I really wish we’d gotten to see more of her in canon. Her backstory, both as the legendary White Witch and being raised in Germania, really intrigues me. As a result, a lot of what I want to see is filling in the gaps about her life.

I’d like to know more about how the use of magic affected her creation. Does she have any memories from her past life, or is her hatred of Eylstadt entirely based on what the Germanians have told her? Did she get anything from Izetta’s blood other than her magic? I’d also love to see a future for her. Maybe Izetta somehow manages to talk her down or capture her before the final battle, or maybe a guilty Finé manages to clone her again to try to make up for what her ancestor did. Or give me the original Sophie’s perspective of the legend. How did she first meet her prince, and what was she thinking when he betrayed her?

I really enjoy the way this series handles slice of life fantasy. The overarching storylines tend to be dark, but life keeps happening around them. I’m also a huge fan of the characters. The nature of the mechanics means that everyone has an opportunity to show multiple sides of themselves and experience character growth. It doesn’t always work out, but I’m a huge fan when it does.

Metis & None

Metis really intrigues me, both as a character and a concept. From the concept side, she’s basically a Shadow self, except that she has a Persona of her own and doesn’t seem to consider herself the same person as Aigis. From the character side, she’s a naive and overzealous character whose primary motivation is protecting her sister, which I love.

I’d really enjoy a character study here. How much does Metis know before she finds Aigis, and how much does she figure out along the way? How does she feel right before merging back into Aigis? I’d also love to see her interacting with the rest of SEES. Does she sit around awkwardly at meals, trying to fit into a group that doesn’t really have a place for her? And any sort of AU where she’s her own person, whether because her claims of being Aigis’ sister are true or because they find a way for them to coexist, would be more than welcome.

Aigis & Labrys

I love the robot sisters. They’re each awkward in a different way, and neither has had the best experience with sisters in the past, but they’re both so ready to get past that and be there for each other.

I’d be interested in what things were like right after Arena, when Labrys was still adjusting to being treated as a person. Is she baffled by mundane things about the world? Do she and Aigis go back to Yakushima to put the past to rest? Or, since Labrys is apparently DLC for Dancing Star Night, come up with a reason for them to dance together.

Aigis & Labrys & Metis

I know that Metis and Labrys don’t exist at the same time, but I’d love to see them interact. They both have a lot of emotions without much practical experience, which makes them good foils for Aigis and could lead to all sort of shenanigans. Besides, they all deserve to be happy and figure out their role in the world together.

I’d love to see an AU where, after the Answer, Metis somehow becomes her own person and joins the Shadow Operatives with Aigis. How would her presence affect the Labrys retrieval mission or its aftermath? From the other end of the timeline, maybe Labrys somehow managed to hide in the Abyss of Time the way Metis claimed to, and the Answer gets even more confusing. And of course you can always bypass the timeline question by putting them in a random AU. Given their names, it might be fun to put them in a Greek-mythology-inspired fantasy AU.

Amagi Yukiko & Tatsumi Kanji

I really wish we’d gotten more of these two interacting. They’re probably the two with the deepest roots in Inaba, and childhood friends to boot, and the game didn’t really have a chance to explore any of that. Fortunately, that’s what fanfiction is for.

Something that interests me about these two is how different their attitudes towards their family businesses are. Kanji’s really interested in the business, but feels like he shouldn’t be, while Yukiko feels obliged to take over the inn despite having no real interest. It’d be interesting to see them navigating that together. Alternatively, I wish Yukiko hadn’t been so offended when Kanji asked if she’d come out too after his dungeon. Something where she actually supports him instead would be welcome, especially if Yukiko understands because she’s interested in or in a relationship with Chie. Or, since they’re childhood friends, some kind of pure childhood fluff is always good.
